Hi all

I woke up a half hour ago for some unknown reason. Still 45 min before the younger two kids’ ok to wake clock goes off after which they’ll march in here for snuggles

Going riding shortly.

Had to send an email to the local forest organization, about changes they are making. They don't announce these changes or involve anyone from the community...the changes just pop up out no where. And now they wrote on Facebook that they are going to reroute a section of one of the best trails in the forest because of "erosion". IE, make it easier. There's no erosion...

They also posted about people removing signs and whatnot. Yeah no shit, what do you think will happen when some small inclusive group of people come in and make decisions and changes without involving the people who use the trails?

Ive asked them to be involved multiple times but it must fall on deaf ears.

Anyways....

Off to my happy place (Island Lake) at the top of Beartooth pass for a mellow hike, and some boating.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Afternoon. Successful graduation party last night. Got to see JBP and a bunch of folks we haven't seen a a bit; then Sydney's friends arrived and they partied until the wee hours of the morning. Cleanup today is nearly complete. Then some pool time for this tired mama.

31.5 miles on le single speed before it got too hot. Was feeling pretty good about that until I saw what @6thElement rode this morning. :disgust1:
Hey, if riding up to 14,130ft is the only way I can find some cool air at the moment, that's what we had to do.

Today was the Triple Bypass ride (Squaw, Loveland, Vail - we were not participating) and all those riders were eventually a constant stream heading downhill towards us as we plowed uphill until we turned off up Blue Sky. There was a rider coming down Blue Sky with an event number plate as we were heading up. If he wasn't confused and was doing Squaw, Blue Sky, Loveland and Vail - that's a big day of vert.

Holy shit tits it's hot out. We picked the wrong trails to ride today, had to bail on the climb back up the ski hill. And by bail, I mean finish the climb but b-line it down the handle bar tall grass back to the car.

It was like a jungle in there and not a single hint of a breeze.

Oh well, we still had fun, rode a few trails and got to chirp our buddy who hasn't ridden with us all year because of his "injured shoulder" (meanwhile he's ridden 40km of lift access trails across the street :busted: ).

Holy shit it is moderately warm out.

Rest day from a week of physical activities. I-405 closure has the whole Puget Sound gridlocked. May take a chill pedal around the lake or perhaps to the marina to stare at boats.

Saw grizzly sow with two cubs en route the the pass / Island lake.

Snowball fight at pass and then a spicy with the wind to float at the Lake and short hike.

Derped the beer at the put in but was waiting for us 2 hours later...
