Looks great.

How does the Foes ride? What are the pros and cons of the design? Maybe Scary can fill us in he has a lot of time on the Foes?

Did you rip around in the pool, skatepark style, with the seat that high (Ouch). Opps wrong forum. But very nice bike indeed.

Sweet. Do you actually climb that thing? The seatpost is super long. I love Foes.
Paul is a really tall guy, I don't think he's doing any climbing on it, jus trying to get the right fit.

Awesome bike man, can't wait to see it in action on Saturday.

Oh, come on...she's hot and dusky, for sure...but soul mate? That you just don't know yet. Take her out a few times, give her your worst...see how she responds before you toss out 'soul mate' on us.

That is one good looking ride :thumb:

I have a new love for Foes. They sent me a raw Fly for a friend of mine. To see it nekkid showed the true craftsmanship of that frame. It is now Tangereine and will be ridden in this years Gorge Games Freeride Comp.

NO FAT CHICKS!

Ok....to be fully honest I haven't ridden my Foes yet in a "Downhill" setting....but what really pushed me over the edge to get one was I rode a buddy's. Granted his was a medium and I got a good 70 pounds on him. It took me one run to fall in love with the way the bike rode. My confidence grew on that bike with every corner I took on it. I felt more confortable on a bike that wasn't my size and way too undersprung for me in ONE RUN than I did on my Turner the year and a half that I owned it. The only other bike that I can say I felt this way about was Howard's Large M1. The Floater works ridiculously well...the bike is seriously the stiffest frame I've ever been on...contributing to the insanely badasss cornering manerisms of the bike. As far as I'm concerned its the best bike I've ever ridden. ITs the kind of bike thats so well designed that the instant you jump on it and start pedalling you feel faster...and in most cases if you are that comfortable with the bike you are faster. Either way I'll be at BB rain or shine this Sat...and maybe through Sunday...anyone got a room?

Oh yeah I do rip around in the pool and the seat is just fine..I might drop it a little if it catches my shorts but its good where its at..Oh and mine's a custom Satin Black in stead of the shiny black they normally use.

And yes I shred the pool...normally in my bmx.
Ps....anyone got a set of MRP plates 110 5 bolts slalom version I can borrow?

Toshi, you might try this saddle from Performance. . It's pretty cheap, it's light, and it's comfy with a slight drop-nose; not as much as a wtb, but it's there. Might be a little too roadie-looking for ya, but it's not too bad...I like it a lot. The stitching comes off after a lot of DHing and crashing, or you can sharpie it over if it really bugs you.

thanks for the tip. i'll give it a try when my current sst.ti, sst.x (too wide and short!) and terry men's firefly (too narrow and humped) die.

Ok so now that I'vew had the bike for a while time to give it the full review.

First of all this bike and the M1 are the only two bikes I've ever ridden where the moment I jumped on it, I felt instantly faster. It is quite a feeling though I can't say if someone else were to ride it, that they'd get the same response.

I'm 6'4" and the large fits me just fine. Though if you look at the numbers it would seem that it'd be too short.

For me this bike will literally get you into trouble because of the confidence it inspires...ask orven about the last time he was following me down Westridge. This bike is best ridden aggresively. I find that I'm throwing myself into corners and attacking them. Again the bike is extremely stiff and the angles are just perfect. The bike also very stable in the jumps.

Build quality is second to none and the little details that they put into the bike is fantastic. For example the rear deraileur hanger is this giant solid chunk of aluminum that the rear axle also threads into . This makes it a bit annoying at times when you have to take off the rear wheel but makes for one bombproof and extremely stiff hanger.

Downsides.
I've always been told that Monocoques are loud ...and although I've done quite a lot to dampen the noise...every now and then a rock will jump up and hit my downtube...not hard but the way the sound is amplified by the frame I usually stop just to make sure that my frame is still in one piece. And you have to get used to the odd creaks that I just can't pinpoint.

The Curnutt Shock makes the bike pedal very well but I haven't been able to tune it to where I like it. To be honest I'm still trying to figure it out. Smoothest ride I've ever had was on Orven's Lambda with his tuned Dorado up front and Avy in the rear. With my bike I feel those little bumps and although the bike still rails turns despite the fact, its still a bit unnerving

Last complain might not apply to someone with more skill...but I can't get the bike to manual.

All in all I'm keeping this bike for a long while. Now if someone could make a fork that felt as good as Orvens Dorado but designed it so that it wouldn't twist whenever you crashed....and relatively inexpensive (no Avy) I'd be on that in a heartbeat.

Manitou stance kingpin? $500 brand-new, and the TPC damping is proven...god knows what chassis issues might pop up with a new fork, but it's pretty similar to the Shermans, and my Slider has been perfectly fine...

Nice review.

Why not just pick up an older dorado? They're all over the place for cheap now that the SPV versions are "better."

Or try a White Bros. Relatively cheap and relatively awesome.

SCARY

Not long enough
Hey, that rear shock needs a few hours to break in and feel more supple.Foes really should inform their buyers of this a little better at the time of purchase.Cuz ,people freak when they ride a new one and they feel sticky. Both the Curnutt shock and fork need a good beating before they smooth out and conform to your every wish.Just beat it some more and it'll only feel better.I am refering to your bike and not your China pee pee. It's probably good you got satin black, cuz red woulda ripped your hands off the bars. ..........Oh! and the way to manual a mono is ....is......IS.......i have no idea, let me know if you find out.
