a terroristic act?

WTF?
Archery-crossbow hunting seasons for deer, bear and turkey began Oct. 1 so it is not extraordinary that someone might be carrying a crossbow in their vehicle this time of year.
He was drunk, it's hunting season, some yahoo flips him off and he gets pissed and shoots at the guy with the weapon he has handy.

CLEARLY a pre-meditated terrorist act, backed up by a terrorist cell, connected to a worldwide terrorist organization.

WTF indeed.

So if I shoot someone with my loaded weapon that I usually have handy, would that be a terroristic act or just the money shot?

This thread seems to have veered off track....

We are talking about crossbows. DAMN fun to shoot, but not as fun as a BALLISTA. Nothing like a cross bow mounted to a base where the "bow" part (I forget the term) is 5 feet across. :thumb:

^^ Not me or my friends byt the way. Some Roman re-enactment group.

Dang, I need to build some siege engines.

And to furthur walk down your fork, this is something you might approve of...no, not pics of the fluffy nugs burned last night but my latest acquisition-

Can you tell what it is specifically?

Looks like a katana. I am not very well educated on Japanese swords, my area being western European, but it looks too long to be a wakizashi, and the tachi was an early period sword.

I'll go with a live steel katana. I don't know who made it, but if they followed the traditional Japanese way of making it then it is likely one bad ass sword.

Imagine how my neighbors feel. "Ya better duck Marge... he's out back with the giant crossbow thing again!"

Correct...it is a Cold Steel O-Katana of a most brutal pedigree. I'd been waffling on that model or the Paul Chen/Hanwei version of the same thing, but ultimately got an offer I couldn't refuse.

Specs:
Cold Steel blades boast tremendous cutting ability and this oversized katana (not as big or cumbersome as a no-dachi) is at the top of a short list of available Japanese greatswords.

Sword is fully functional...and then some! It has surprising balance and liveliness for a sword of this size; it can be wielded one-handed with effectiveness — with two hands it is quick and agile. One of the most all-out impressive, formidable pieces of cutlery on the market.

Overall length: 49 inches. Sword weight: 56 oz (approx. 3-1/2 lbs). Blade material: 1050 steel. Blade thickness: 3/8-inch. Blade length: 36 inches. Handle length: 13 inches. Handle is rayskin wrapped with braided black cord, adorned with brass menuki.

Includes black-lacquered wood scabbard and a blue/violet cover bag.

When I was a kid me and my friends used to make maces and hatchets in my garage out of scrap metal and axe handles.

Our sixth grade teacher freaked out when he found the weapons in our desks.

I had a large scrapmetal machete collection. It is somehow a miracle I have lost no appendages.
