North SeaTac BMX Park, the ABA and the City of SeaTac are proud to host a very special homecoming for Jill Kintner, BMX Racing Bronze Medal Winner at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Jill Kintner, of Kirkland, grew up racing at North SeaTac BMX Park and now her Olympic Dream has come true!
Join us at SeaTac BMX park on Saturday, September 27th, to celebrate Jill's Olympic accomplishment. You can meet Jill from 12:00-1:30, talk with her, get her autograph and have your picture taken if you bring your camera. It will be a joyous day filled with fun and excitement, don't miss out! Race registration from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm - racing FREE to all NEW riders. Current ABA members will pay a $10 race donation with all proceeds going to a "Kintner Olympic Dreams Scholarship Fund" which will provide financial assistance for local boys and girls who need help with membership costs and/or new equipment, etc. This scholarship fund is in honor of Jill's accomplishments and her father, the late Peter Kintner. Peter, once the track operator of North SeaTac BMX Park, was very instrumental in the BMX program at SeaTac BMX and remembered fondly in the Northwest BMX community.
Never tried BMX racing? Please join us for a FREE "Basics of BMX Racing Clinic" led by some of the area's most experienced BMX racers. Center Cycle Racing Team, along with Seatac's Vortex Racing Team will be on hand to assist. Learn the "how-to's" of BMX racing from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - then we'll pair you up with an experienced rider as a "buddy" to have a free hot dog lunch with and then practice together during race registration from 1:30-2:30. You can stay and try your first BMX race for FREE, racing to start around 3:00pm. All you need is a bike, helmet, long sleeve shirt, long pants, and closed toed shoe such as athletic or skate shoes. Riders under the age of 18 will also need a parent or guardian present at the track. This entire day is totally free to new riders! Try out the newest Olympic sport, BMX Racing, where no one sits on the bench!
