I was in Costco today, and I saw a pretty much loaded HP 17 inch laptop for about $1100.
You cannot get a Macbook Pro at the same spec for any price. No Blu-ray. A Macbook Pro at comparable spec goes for about $2500-3000.
As much as I like OSX, the programs I use on a daily basis to make money are all cross platform. I'm also not an idiot, and I can run a Windows machine without getting a virus. Once you take into account that I can't get a matte screen from Apple anymore, and apparently things like firewire ports are for chumps, what's the point?
I'm so happy I went with Lightroom instead of Aperture.
