I drove a mini van that slipped really bad in reverse for several years. Just had to be careful where I parked.

I went to the automatic transmission dark side when I got the Astro. I will not return to thrashing with a shift lever and a clutch. The Fit has a sport mode with paddle shifters - useful maybe once a year.Effing automatic transmissions.

That's a helluva lot more than gettin' a clutch replaced.
Not that much more . . . just got master and slave cylinders replaced [under warranty, PTL] on my g37s - so not even the clutch, really, and rep said it would have been around 3K just for that . . .

Tranny shouldn't be more than $2k. I grenaded the one in my F250 and I think a complete overhaul was $1600. That was through a performance shop with some upgrades. Never should have sold that truck....
