Speaking of Karpiels, any news on how he's doing trying to resuscitate his company? I still have that Army I need to have the head tube sawed off and re-attached straight. And no Brian, I haven't contacted a frame building school. At $3k a pop, I don't want 'students' to have a whack on my frame.
Considering his rep, I wouldn't send it back to him. You may never see it again. There are many competant framebuilders who could do that work easily. I would send it to one of them

Can you point me in a general direction? Ventana origianlly welded that thing, but they won't touch it w/ a 10ft diamond encrusted stick. How about you Zed? I saw a little pic of your homebuilt, very bling!

Call Ventana and beg them to fix it, thats your best bet.

Maybe the guys at Go-Ride could talk to Ventana, they seem to have some sort of connection with them. ;)

I know several guys who do custom aluminum frames. They could definitly handle a repair. PM me an email address and I will connect you.

The problem occurs cause a single pinch bolt clamps both the seat tower barrels and the shock barrels. The best way to fix this problem is to slightly increase the diameter of the seat tower barrel holes on the frame. This will create more clamping force on the shock barrels (where you need it). You can sand it by hand, but to do this properly you'll need to some how get a 1.5" dia hand reamer. Remove all barrels and insert reamer thru the seat tower barrel holes. Turn the reamer a few times (use cutting oil) then tighten the pinch bolts a tad. Repeat till the pinch bolts are tight and the hand reamer spins freely. Jan did this to my frame and it worked great. 2 years of abuse and zero problems. Good luck.

Thanks for the visual aid. P.S. how buried is your house???!!! Holy crap dude it just won't stop snowing!!!
My tahoe place? I haven't been there since the begining of November, I'm guessing a sh*t load. I still have to do some work under the house too. I may be up there sometime in March.

Might want to check on it!!! NOW!!! Your side has the most. I've seen alot of houses up here getting messed up with the incredable snow load.
Hopefully my rental company has an eye on it. Actually they are really good about it.
