i'm sure he'll get lots of support from the unemployed unskilled labor force. it ain't like they have jobs to be at, anyway

is there a +/- "the clergy" has read proverbs 25:8-9, or how they apply paul's words from 1 corinthians 6:1-8?

The Natural State
Can you clarify for me your point?

What you have seen with your eyes
8 do not bring[a] hastily to court,
for what will you do in the end
if your neighbor puts you to shame?

9 If you take your neighbor to court,
do not betray another’s confidence,

1 If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? 2 Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6 But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!
7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters.

I don't think I've ever seen the words Alabama and classy in the same sentence....
I have, but it was in an ironic, "ha ha" manner.

Maybe they are just more focused on Matthew 22:36-40 and actually following what Jesus told them to do.

And yes, I did have to look up the verse.

i don't think it's very "loving" to enable your neighbor, but that's just how i roll.

a finer point is made when you take the perspective of how to raise children, irrespective of whatever holy text does or does not get bandied about

Enable? Enable them to what?
break the law of the land in which they are present

just so we're clear: i'm only talking about illegal immigrants, which include those who may have legally gained entry, but are no longer eligible to remain in country. it's no about "quit sucking up our resources", it's about "you're breaking the law".

just an aside, but i think there's a legal term for knowingly helping someone who's breaking the law. hope that's relevant
