My knee is odviously still feeling pretty weak from my sprain 3 weeks ago. Just basic walking is OK, but it feels like its going to bend all the way backwards if I overextend it a little bit, and then hurts like HELL! Little tweaks hurt a lot also.

I am entertaining the use of a knee brace to help with the healing process, and stop some of the hurting.

Anyone here with more experiance have some insight?

i just went to a store and bought an Ace, that seemed to hold everything in place alright for me recently. After two weeks i was able to be somewhat normal but it took me a month to get nearly 100%.
You should be working it now, but back off when you hit pain, it's not a broken bone.
The ace also helps out with the swelling. Swelling holds up the healing, you should still be icing it if you still have any.
From the sound of it you might have more damage than just a sprain. Might wanna get that checked out by a specialist.

have you seen a doctor? You might have torn something instead of a sprain. I've been walking around for 2.5 years with a torn ACL and I didn't know it.

There are quite a few moto knee braces to choose from. Here is a link to an EVS knee brace; this one is A LOT cheaper than most other brands. You can also check out 661, they have a knee/shin pad that is supposed to keep your knee from hyper extending. While I don't know how well the 661 product works, I know that the moto braces are spot on...
