KOKANEE CRANKWORX ATHLETE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Early registration strongly advised as most events will sell out

The Winter Olympics were kind of a big deal around here but year after year one event consistently rocks Whistler's world. Kokanee Crankworx, in its seventh year is Whistler's largest summer festival and for mountain bikers of all ages and competitive backgrounds, event registration is now officially opened.

With $80,000 in cash for professionals and $50,000 in prizes for amateurs, registration for Kokanee Crankworx 2010 can now be found online at http://www.crankworx.com/whistler/athletes/athletes. Nine intense days of events, beginning on August 7 running through to August 15, will attract hundreds of athletes from the world’s best mountain bikers to amateurs.

“Kokanee Crankworx gives amateurs of all ages the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best riders in the world,” says Jeremy Roche, Kokanee Crankworx General Manager. “There are very few other events out there offering the chance to participate side-by-side with World Cup title holders.”

With a field of over 700 athletes and over 1,300 competitor starts accounted for at Kokanee Crankworx 2009, early registration is encouraged. Many disciplines sold out last year and 2010 promises to be even bigger. Live webcasts of each and every Kokanee Crankworx event will provide a daily outlet for all competitors friends and families to watch on www.crankworx.com and experience Whistler's electric atmosphere and world-class mountain bike action.

The Dual Slalom, Monster Energy Garbanzo Downhill, Canadian Open Enduro, Air Downhill, Giant Slalom presented by Giant Bicycles and the Canadian Open Downhill presented by Kona events are available for athlete registrations.

Athletes cannot register for the VW Trick Showdown or the Monster Energy Slopestyle as these events are invitational formats with 24 of the top professional freeride athletes competing.
