I haven't ridden the bike but I am a Kona fan. The frame will be tough and because it is a xc frame it will have decent components. I have seen the bike for around 1000$ up here. The only downfall is how ugly the colouring is. Check out the page if you need any technical info

I ride a '02 Cinder Cone. I've put 200 miles on it since i bought it in early summer. I think $475 is a killer deal for one. I paid $800 for mine with upgraded shifters. Only problems i've ever had with it were a loose BB and broken cable. Neither of which were a big deal.
