Good to see the Operator DH is actually affordable ($3099) vs the Supreme Operator($6099, which I believe was supposed to be $6599 according to the press release)..

Their supreme line always had silly prices. I think someone at Kona needs to realise where on the market they are positioned in the eyes of their potential customers. Im pretty sure its not in the 6,5k range, unless they add a build in refillable keg and a yearly suply of hookers.

With the exception of the giant glory 5350. that price 6099 is in line with other top of the line dh bikes with similar equipment. Hell, Treks session is 6040 this year and full of house brand parts.

I beg to differ, these are all comparable and/or proven bikes:

Norco Team DH = $4750
Demo 8 II = $5500
Jamis BAM II= $5475
TR450 build=$4956(yeah, I know not a pimped out build, but still)
Session 88= $6039(just as an example)

Jamis I will give you but not a brand with Giants rep.

2010 Rocky Mountain Flatline World Cup 5999

2010 GT Fury (carbon) 6999

2010 V10 (non carbon) 6430

The Kona operator is 2011 price and in line with other "no house brand" setups

Yeah - Norco. Thats where I position Kona and really If I were to choose between the 2 (given the same components and price) Id still choose Norco.

Yeap, the fact that I could get a complete TR450 and still have $1200 in my pocket vs the supreme operator boggles my mind. The TR450's spec is damn nice also, XO shifting, Elixir CR's, Minion DHF's, LG-1+, Atlas FR bars, and thomson seatpost. literally swap out the cranks for some saints or e13s and it's pretty much a dead even build compared to the Kona..

Yeah, Im pretty sure Ive build my legend muuuuuch under what kona wants for their operator with better parts. 4.5k-5k would be at least close to reasonable.
