Got An 04 Stinky that the main bearing/bushing(?) is squeaking. Any of you Stinky riders know how to remove this or to stop it from sqeaking?

Second question...I just put on some of the Dangerboy rocker arms. They are sweet but I found that the lower shock bolt snapped in two! Have any of you with this upgrade had any issues like this? Are these rocker arms worth the upgrade?

'preciate the help.

The shock bolt didn't break due to using/not using a torque wrench. It was from the downward stress of the shock...seems like a small bolt to be using for that spot. (or is it the stress from the Dangerboy rocker arms?) As for the main bearing, as far as I know, it's never been taken off the bike.

I have an 04 Stinky primo. I've never broken the lower shock mounting bolts, but I do bend and occasionaly break the upper shock bolts (my bike has the stock rocker arms). Go to the hardware store and replace the shock mounting bolts with grade 8 bolts.

By main bearing i'm assuming your talking about where the chainstays connect to the frame (right above the bottom bracket). First make sure the bolt holding the chainstays hasn't worked itself loose (this could cause creaking). Lift the rear end off the ground and shake the rear wheel from side to side, if you have any play, look to see which component is moving around causing the play and replace the bearings. It might be a good idea just to do a whole pivot kit (link bearings and chainstay bearings).

Okay. It wasn't clear from your first post.

I'd agree with Liquid 10, go get some Grade 8 bolts, they have greater hardness and shear strength. Not nearly as likely to bend or break. As a torque-related bonus, they tend to read torque more accurately because they don't deform as easily. ;)
