A friend handed-me-down an old set of Kooka cranks that i'm now runnin' on my commuter bike. Now i know that PINK was sexy back in the day, but.....

So any ideas on how to remove the pink coating/finish? The pink is worn thru where the shoes rub, so I tried a buffer, but no dice. Would a chemical remover be ill-advised?

Just dry. You'll probably need some fairly course stuff.

There's the off chance that it's a powdercoat on there, I don't really know what they used to color the cranks. If it's powdercoat, well, I don't really know how to take it off. But steel wool should take paint right off.

Just do it outside and try not to breathe in too much of the dust.
