Edit: our surroundings aren't "gnarly" man. Nobody lives out in the desert! Most of the inhabited areas of Aus are just boring countryside/farmland or forests (or cities, duh). It's not like we're out there in 40deg heat every day slaving away trying to kill scorpions that we find living under our sand-igloos ;)
cmon mate!!! out west we don t have vehicles.... we ride kangaroos around... try shuttling ya bikes up when you have to gather a large bunch of roos and occy strap ya bikes to their backs... then the ride up is hell... it s so tough out there we used to beat up kids who didn t have vegimite sannies for lunch... 'you little poser and ya pastie have this' <bam smash crack bang oohhhh>

It was a nationals round... check out the awesomely expensive podium.

yeah i noticed that... great stuff.... i think that makes us pretty unique.. the ability to get by with what we have... to make the most out of any given situiation...

haha, what I like the most is that nobody gives a shït about the podium, or the fact that our national series pays FA prize money (which is still better than Norba I guess  ).

HEre we seriously don't give a damn.
I was talking to some dude in Adelaide who was reminising about the old days when he used to ride against the pro's in QLD. I remember when he said that him and some others were kicking ass when one day some idiot wins a round by 8 secs on a 3min long track on his full ridgid due to a 'timing error'. Next race same thing happens, and that is how Kovarik's state career started.

37.8ºC here (Brisbane) right now with 65% humidity...

You can pass out wearing body armour just sitting in the shuttle ute. Plus you don't even want to imagine what a truckload of DHers smells like in this weather.

weeeelllllll, up here in thenorth, its more like 98% humidity and i dont even want to think about the temperature.........it's difficult to breathe, let alone push a dh bike up a hill ??armour???............you think were worried about a few scratches and bruises......

thanks for the pics ive been hanging out for them

I have looked into it and hope to go abroad in the very near future. Preferably to the southern hemisphere. But last time I looked there were no programs that I could find in the regions of countries that I wanted to be in that would suit the needs for my major. Maybe a change of major is in need
What are you doing?

In Syndey alone there are three big unis alone

www.uts.edu.au
www.usyd.edu.au
www.unsw.edu.au

You are bound to find a program here. Sydney has some sick riding as well but you will need a car to do shuttles in. Thredbo is a 7 hour drive, buller is a 12 hour drive.
