Hi there,

finally the WC returns to good old europe, with La Bresse this coming weekend, (then the IXS Cup in Pila), then Val Di Sole and finally Champery.

Will Mr. Gwin destroy the field in La Bresse once more?
Can Peaty win again in La Bresse?
Wil Gee come back to form?
Will Sam return?
Will the young guns score their first win?
tbc.......

Hill is not racing...Worlds still plan.
Things have been pretty quiet for me lately. I have been doing everything I can to rehab my shoulder back to strength.

I still have a couple weeks before I can get back on the bike and start riding. I can't wait though, it sucks to be injured when all you want to do is ride.

We have been getting a lot of rain as well which makes it hurt more because all the tracks are nice and grippy and I just want to be out there. I'm still planning on racing the worlds and my goals haven't changed.

I will be back out there soon!

Peat will win this one.

I Hope Giant pack will show some moves with Mr. Danny "Loose-Blues" Hart on the front line ;)

(Hill)I wonder how long it will be until he is second gun to Brosnan on the Spec team...I think it will not be long at all. (history asside that is)
I don't think it will be long either.

And IMO a little after that everyone will be racing for second. He already takes the best lines and has ridiculous cardio for a junior. When he gains a little more strength it's game over for the rest.

Hill's just tactically lowering his UCI ranking so he can beat the rain at Champery, 2011 world champ here he comes ;)

La Bresse track looks awesome, can't wait! Lets hope Gee stops exploding wheels/tyres and gets himself on the top step.

I echo the comments about Brosnan, that kid is going to dominate I reckon! Wicked fast and seems fit as fook. Wonder if he'll have much of a growth spurt in the coming years, he's still a young lad after all.

I like how Sam Hill is not even there and is still the topic of this thread.
Awesome.

I am wondering if the french ruling held up? where the riders must wear back and elbow protection? I sent some TLD Premium Protection out there, so I hope the rule stood up!

Hahaha....freedom haters...
It's because they don't want their socialist socioeconomic ideals to be looked down upon when it takes a foreign racer 9 months of waiting at the clinic to get a flesh wound cleaned and stitched!

I think it's horsesh!t that world cup professionals (in any sport) are required to wear non essential gear like gloves, elbow pads, maybe even spine protection. In fact, if racing downhill is your job, I think you've gotten to a point where you know enough about what you're doing to decide whether or not you even need to wear a helmet. You can't argue that Gee Atherton knows more about downhill than some paunchy UCI commissionaire, so who's some old, washed up Bob Roll motherfu<ker to tell Kovarik to put a helmet on, BL to wear a shirt, or to force Cedric to wear pants.

That said, for all other classes of racing, it's good they make us punters wear protection. You know those rules have saved USA cycling millions from the potential fallout of a bunch of fat, middle aged, noob cannons careening down the Cat 2 course on super high end and/or clapped out Foes/Canfield/Kona/whatever looked most badass rigs with custom airbrushing, wearing roofing knee pads, cutoff camo and wifebeaters. /end nonsensical rant.

Point is: Let the pros do their thing and race how they feel is best, go fast, take chances, and riding rugged terrain looks so much more badass without protective gear! Look at how bmx got so popular!! ;)

Curious to hear the racers' perspectives on this from track walk and chit-chat videos. Blenki is at a severe disadvantage if they make him wear gloves:thumb:
