I bought a Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard combo from Newegg for my new build. I'm quite pleased with the aesthetics and design, but the keyboard is laggy as all get out when I'm typing, and it worses as I type faster. Is this just "how it is" with wireless keyboards? I've reinstalled drivers, updated, switched batteries, gone between PS2/USB connections, nothing has fixed it. Ideas? Interference maybe? I don't know of anything in the vicinity that could do that...

Emailing Logitech has netted me a Chinese helpdesk asking me to measure the lag time.

i got tired of lag and random freakouts (repeating keys) with my apple bluetooth keyboard, so i switched back to the wired/usb one.

Bluetooth can be buggy....However, the wireless keyboard is much better...as far as lag is concerned, the only time I have ever had an issue was due to batteries.

Now, I'm fairly certain you checked the keyboard's batteries, so, I would begin to look at any conflicts, or updated drivers, all the crap I'm sure you may have checked. The lag could be related to something else such as a TV remote, etc...

I have also seen, for the trial laptops that use wifi, if there are a lot of services running, and a boatload of memory hog type things can have a huge impact as well. While this may sound obvious, it at least might give you a start point.

Is there some kind of a channel a/b switch? Do you have a line of sight between your keyboard and the receiver? I'd try moving some things around and see if it get's better, RF interference is really weird, I worked at a company that specialized in RF equipement and they didn't even understand RF interference very well.

I agree. RF interference can come from odd sources. I assume you have a USB dongle for the receiver - do you have a USB extender cable you could plug it into in order to move it around?

The most recent RF mouse I played with at work was about 4 ft. from the receiver (which was under my desk). It skipped all over the place. I moved the tower about 8 inches to the left (still no line of sight, mind you) and it worked without a problem.

I don't really like wireless mice/keyboards for daily use. The small glitches drive me nuts.

The only issue I have w/ my Microsoft wireless mouse & keyboard is that it periodically tells me that the signal is weak and I really should troubleshoot it. I'm pretty sure it's lying to me, since other than it believing that something is wrong, everything works very well. The receiver is close and on the same plane, and "troubleshooting" the "problem" does absolutely nothing. Whoo-hoo?

I assume you've played around with the receiver distance, positioning, etc. until you're blue in the face?
