Funny - I immediately noticed their "larb" in the Northern section - got some larb in a Thai place in a tiny town in the middle of the mountains of Colorado.

And now I'm hungry for Thai.

My recommendations (if you can stand the heat!!)

NAM PRIK ONG [Red Chili Dip]
One of the least spiciest of all northern chili dips. A combination of ground pork, tomatoes, dried spices. Also eaten with *sticky rice and fresh vegetables with fried pork skins.

NORTHERN LARB
A completely different dish from the Issan larb, this northern style larb (ground pork) is cooked with northern Thai spices without the lime juice; garnished with fresh herbs and vegetables.

KHAO SOI
This typical Burmese influenced dish is served with egg noodles in a curry base with a touch of coconut cream, with your choice of meat; garnished with sliced red onions, lime and pickled vegetables.

DUCK NOODLE SOUP
Flat rice noodle soup with roasted duck.

(I've found Khao Soi and Duck Noodle Soup at a few other Thai places, but it isn't common. Still VERY good though!!)

Best part of the Khao Soi (if they do it like my local place) is that the noodles are FRIED first and then the curry is added on top. That leaves some of the noodles soft and some still crispy. That dual texture part is key!

Angels Landing will be a shitshow. NTTAWWT. Actually it'll probably all be a shitshow.

Bikes, IMO, are the best way to see the main part of Zion.

I need to see if I can find it, but I read an article just a couple days ago about NPS restricting the number of hikers into angels landing and that the wait was HOURS long.

Thank you all for the information. I think we’re just going to do the tourist thing this trip. This is our first trip and we’re going on Sunday hopefully by 8am. I think we’re just going to hop on and off the park bus.

It's weird, we stayed at the Wynn which was beautiful. Still not sure what we got for the resort fee we paid, aside from a nice outdoor pool. Anyway, being on the strip was almost as isolating as being on an island. We didn't have a car so to go anywhere off the strip we needed to get a Lyft. Everything is overpriced on the strip, not the way I remembered it 15yrs ago. I really enjoyed Fremont Street and everything we did away from the strip. The strip was fun for like 10min.... I think if we had a car or something that allowed us to get away from the strip we may have been happier but all in all place is kinda lame IMO.

As a comparison, our conference was in NYC last summer, to me, NYC was way better. I could walk everywhere and take subways and get all over the city, in LV I felt trapped.....

Fremont street & downtown are the places to "do vegas" imo. I love the freak show that Fremont street is. I once saw an older couple both smoking cigarettes & they both had tracheotomies.

Venture too far from LV; wind up in the desert with strange whistle sounds and no person around u for miles. NYC venture too far wind up in Hoboken and hear Lil John's Whistle saying to get low. The trap is there for a reason.
