Or popples up here...We've got cottonwood on the East coast, though I think more people call them poplars round these parts.

Thanks, the one at the bottom always tripped me up. This one is 2x. Looks like retensioning fixed the problem. No worries now. Quite a bit of corrosion on the bike so it might be something like that.I agree with Westy, sounds like a tension thing. but rubbing some oil on the spokes at crossing points may help as well.
to tell cross pattern just count how many times other spokes cross a given spoke from flange to rim. the first cross with 3x can be very close to the flange so don't be fooled.
When i can’t get the bottom straightened up. Always revert to oiling and twisting your nipples. Thanks, the one at the bottom always tripped me up. This one is 2x. Looks like retensioning fixed the problem. No worries now. Quite a bit of corrosion on the bike so it might be something like that.

What exactly is this peculiar "job" thing you speak of?
Oh Jeez. I had not thought of that.Maybe that's what happened to Kidwoo?
Although Parachute Adams is a decent choice but I think he would look better and possibly catch more fish (less ears) with a Pale Morning Dunn or a Blue wing olive film criticGreat day fishing, but the hike in nearly kilt me. It was hot as balls, even at 9K feet.
Nobody at the lake when we arrived. One other dude showed up about 1/2 hour after we did.
Fished for about 2 hours - clouds moved in and the wind picked up... it kinda looked like we might get skunked. But the wind died down after a short while and it was a jackpot. Kid and I both pulled in 8 fish - nice 10-12 inch rookies.
While the kid was casting during the windy bit, he did this:
