Good Morning!

It's a beautiful Carolina morning out there. The orange barrels are starting their annual Winter migration down the highway, and my morning commute is now way more aggravating than it used to be.

I think I broke my finger in my sleep? WTF....that's weird. It wasn't like this when I went to bed last night. It feels like I've been finger-banging a cigar store Indian.

Didn't adjust my saddle height correctly this weekend and now my foot hurt (old injury and I am getting old). I will try and ride as much mtb and flats a possible. Stupid road bikes :-)

Weekly sausage party ride has been moved to tonight. I guess someone wants to scare kids tomorrow?

So, ride we shall. And it looks like today is going to be great, weather wise. It was a chilly start, but there is not a cloud in the sky and the temperature is supposed to reach a scorching 50 freedom units.

Rode on trainer last night; felt good to do something. My FTS is appallingly high, to the extent that if I didn't need the insurance I probably would have walked already. I won't let Wifey know until I decide, but I'm probably going to have to sell the M to help pay for the deck. That is making me really pissed off at this point in time, but if I amortize out a loan for the deck instead of blowing a huge chunk of my cash, the loan will cost me $18k. I'm in a particularly bad mood as of late...

Apparently that is a thing? Because I was in Costco this past Saturday and I saw a guy with like six bags/containers of nuts. Figured that'd last him a good six months, but admittedly I don't know much about his nut eating habits.

Don't take out a loan to replace your deck. Just get 'er done.

And keep workin' for the Man. Look on the bright side - it's only about 30 more years for you. :homer:

The catch with Wifey being Director level in her career is that when things go wrong, she's usually not working for a while, which means living off cash. I'm not going to hit a massive portion of my cash for the deck, so it leaves me with less options. Just selling the M with my bonus and her most recent side project will pay for a massive chunk of the deck and the insurance I will no longer be paying will cover most of the monthly out. Trust me, I'm looking at all of my options here and I'm running out of them.

Sell the ///M. Just do it.
Fix the deck, make the house awesomer and SAFE for the kids. No brainer.
Once dust settles you have an easy justification for a new toy; id est you sold your car AND used your bonus for the house.

got stuck in a traffic jam caused by a dumbass trying to run from the CHP at 100mph and rolling it on the transition ramp back up fumared both freeways. In other news it dropped to 41 last night and I turned on the furnace for the first time since last winter to warm the house up a bit this morning

Definitely sounds like you should sell the house and move into something smaller.

I don't have a deck. Makes me feel like a sub-par monkey. :cray:

OTOH

I don't have a deck. I don't have to deal with a deck maintenance bullshit. Makes me feel like a happy monkey. :weee:
Don't you have some 'heirloom' windows to reglaze:popcorn:

ETA: I'm just bitter, because we have to replace our deck in BZN and build a new deck for the rental in Idaho, thankfully neither are monocle-level
