Hi, im posting this for a friend of mine. He recently assembled a new bike and purchased a 2002 RS psylo sl. The other day we were playing around at some jumps and he landed a little front heavy. Nothing sever, he rode it off fine, he just came down front first. Next thign we know the damn fork is pushin oil out the left seal by the arch. This fork is very new and has very little abuse. We had hoped perhaps the seals would "reseat". But it doesnt seem that that has happened as it was leaking today as well. What are his options at this point? We are gonna take a trip to the lbs on friday i imagine and talk to them. However having bought he purchased the fork from supergo and not the shop. Would this type of thing be covered by warranty? Can a shop do in house warranty work or would it have to be sent out? Is this not a major problem, and we should just tear the fork down and replace the seals?

Any advice or instructions on what to do would be great.

Thanks,
Brian

how much oil? The left leg is the spring side and the only oil in it is the bath to lube the stanchion. You can reseat the seal yourself by slipping a ziptie in between the seal lip and the upper and pressing the seal back into place. Psylos do seep a little oil onto the leg pretty much all the time (when it stops, your wiper foam is dry and should be relubed) but if it's a lot of oil, something more serious may be wrong.

If you have the newer Psylos, there is no seal, just the top resiwiper. I suppose its possible the hard landing popped the wiper up a bit or flex allowed it to open up or move, maybe got damaged. Its a simple job to pull it apart and have a good look. Sometimes a pull apart and clean and relube works wonders.
