Wow. Some people can only do what they are told, I mean most of us would have turned off the computer and dealt with that versus the alternative...but that doesn't mean you should go to jail if you do otherwise.
Can someone please tell me how there are people that work for a school system that don't know how to turn a monitor off? How old is she that she doesn't know anything about computers, but she obviously knows how to surf the net  And of course as 7th graders the first site they go to is a hairstyles website, I don't think so

Well, I agree and I was mostly kidding, but do you really not think there were a lot of puritanical, The-Naked-Human-Form-Is-Evil values at work when the ridiculous knee-jerk conviction of this teacher occurred? Nobody wanted to know what actually happened, they just wanted to nail someone to the wall for exposing their precious children to the dreadful evils of "pornography."
Wow considering what the computer was running it no wonder it was infected with malware that would do this. It's the schools fault that this happened not the poor sub teacher.

Not unless they discover it in a cardboard box in their basement. Then it's for them and all of their friends at any future sleep-overs until they get busted.

I worked for Kaiser Permanente (HMO/hospital) in tech support (1st and 2nd level). I can tell you from first hand experience that there are people out there who you would consider "smart" who do not know how to turn off a monitor. Doctors... people who had finished college, then finished medical school could not remember their passwords. They couldn't figure out how to TURN ON THE FRIKKIN PC!!!! Let alone turn it off. And not just older docs... YOUNG docs... docs who had to use a computer in school!
Age has nothing to do with it. There are people out there who are completely computer illiterate. You'd be surprised.
