My SPD cleats are totally stuck in rust(winter riding) and I cannot unscrew them. I was thinking about buying that drill head that screws on counterclockwise, would that do the trick?
joking aside, the bolts are already screwed up (I am very funny today eh?) They are stripped so even If I can get some lube in the allex hole is rounded!

Somtimes you can get then to turn with a torx bit, hammer it in to the hex hole and you may be lucky. I have never got one of those screw remover things to work, a slot cut with a dremel is usually very reliable and you can often keep on using the bolt afterwards.
Originally posted by Deyv I just called my LBS and they told me just to drill it completly and that I could be able to save the inside plate or if not, they have spares,
Thanks anyway guys and be carefull what you do with that penatrating oil
I had a disc brake rotor bolt that was frozen in a hub last week. I eventually just took a drill and bored through the center, and kept repeating with bigger bits until the bolt head snapped off. Now my only problem is getting the other half of the bolt out of the hub. The hub's trash anyway... I'll probably leave it.
I think Yossarian has the right idea--I used the Dremel cut off wheel to cut a slot in rotor bolt that had the head sheared off.
Works quite well.
Dremel for ever!

Yeah, FYI, left-hand bits do work pretty well to remove bolts in a lot of cases. (Now that you've already finished...) Had a friend who had a set and we were more successful with them than EZ-outs or dremels...
Just can't seem to find a set myself, though I guess I could bother to take 10 minutes and search snap-on or someplace.
