Why is it every year around or during the Tour, Greg Lemond starts hatin' on Armstrong. I just read where he is now saying crap like, "He does not think Armstrong is as clean as he says he is, blah blah blah." And actually accuses him of doing drugs. All on speculation. What a douche.
I realize that if Armstrong wins, his 6th title would double Lemond's 3 but Jeez, he needs to quit guzzling the haterade, and take a big swig of STFU!
He has done this before on different matters, but unless he has some kind of proof, which he does not, why spew diarrhea from your mouth every year?
The link to this was on Yahoo's Tour coverage, it did not really say anything and was not worth copying.
I was just wondering if there is anything more to this story than good old fashion jealousy or what? Did Lance come over to Greg's house and leave an
"upper decker" in his toilet or something?

This coming from a guy that started car racing and pretty much turned his back on the sport once he was done. Lemond used to be on team Z. That stands for ZZZZZZZ - which is what I do when he opens his mouth.

PS - don't derail this thread any further - this is a good topic.

He is just jealous because Trek outsells his crap 1000 to 1.

Funny doesn't Trek own Lemond bikes?
Yeah, you'd think Trek would have his ass on a plate for flinging $hit at Lance. But then again Lamond probably doesn't even have rights to his own name, Trek should put out a new model of Lamond roadbike called the "Jealous old man".

LeMond did a ton for road racing....everything from clipless pedal, sunglasses and helmets to aerobars and other forms of biking technology. I'd like to see the quotes (actually the whole article). Mind you, I'd be bitter too. Lemond got robbed in his carreer, he would have won 5 tours as well, but he had to give one up to Berand Hinault by his team director and got shot by a shotgun by his brother in law and almost died (took him out for 2 years)....May not be a cancer survivor story like Lance, but HE GOT SHOT BY A FREAKIN SHOTGUN no less!

Those two seem to have some issues with each other and there definately seems to be some jealousy on LeMond's part the way he waits until the middle of the Tour to start stirring the pot. As I heard yesterday, "I can't believe LeMond is doing this to his fellow countryman right now".

Here is a link to one of the articles about it: http://www.eurosport.com/home/pages/V4/L0/S18/sport_Lng0_Spo18_Sto613945.shtml

Armstrong's respons was: "Greg's been saying the same thing for four years, so I'm not surprised -- just disappointed. When I was young he was an inspiration to me... Now, he's attacking my abilities and my character and I don't know why."

I was shocked to read what LeMond had to say.
It was his 89 comeback that hooked me into cycling and the Tour.
This is crazy!!!!
The nerve of some people.
Greg was my favorite rider from that time period, guess I'll move him down one, and Andy Hampsten will move up!

I would be worried if he wasn't kind of bitchy about things. I have noticed primadonnas at local races in the sport class. When I was a competetive runner it was even worse. Heck, I had a kid I used to baby-sit when he was a youngin' knock me out of my highschools record books in track and cross country, and I wasn't happy. It's called ego. I understand Lemond.

Welp, it's the guy that goes out, keeps his mouth shut and works hard that is the real winner. Hopefully Lance will pull it off again. He's a real sportsman. He does his talking with his ability, not with his mouth. Kudos to him. Lance rules. They guy is fvcking superman in my eyes. F LE MUD. Faggott.

Ugh... I just bought a used road bike and its a LeMond.. It was a great bargain for a carbon bike @ $500 but now I am wondering how I can repaint it to get his name off it.

LeMond whines like a school boy that his own teammates — including Hinault — sabotaged his Tour de France campaigns, costing him more victories. If he was as loyal to his teammates as he is to his countrymen, I don't blame them. People get what they deserve.
It is as simple as this: Armstrong has inspired millions with his triumphs on and off the bike. If he is proven guilty of doping, it will be a betrayal of epic proportions. Unless and until that happens, Armstrong commands our respect and the presumption of his innocence. LeMond's refusal to give him either is despicable.
