I want to buy a Lenovo laptop and they make both a multimedia geared "Family Series" notebook and a business-oriented "thinkpad." I am doing recreational stuff, no business, but I'm wondering which is the best for me. The Thinkpad is more expensive, but is it better for me? Why is it more? Is it worth the money for an advanced computer user?

Also, I've heard lots about IBM/Lenovo's durability, but people are mainly talking about Thinkpads. Are Familys the same?
