It should be interesting up here for the next little while. There will definitely be some lefty deals such as more spending and aversion of a Public Service strike in September.
Although the Green Party didn't get a seat or hit five percent of the vote, they still got four percent.... now they'll get federal funding, and perhaps give us a good showing next time around.
I'll be getting a new boss cuz the minister of my department lost his seat. He only won last time due to vote splitting on the right. Ed Broadbent is back... although some feel he did so reluctantly... so much for retirement.
Rick Mercer gave a few good comments yesterday as he predicted a Liberal minority with NDP holding the balance of power. He typified Canadians as wanting to teach the Liberals a lesson, yet keep them in power.
I'm not sure I seem too satisfied with the vote. For sure there'll be another election in the next three to eighteen months... The Liberals win if we find out who was behind the sponsorship scandal, and whether the Liberals can keep some of their promises - unlike the reds in Ontario.
The reds in Ontario have a sh*t load of cleaning up to do from the previous Eves and famous Harris government. It's great to see Green finally get some federal funding aswell. There will be an election called within the next year for sure.
Since when did it matter that CANADA had a government? I thought we just try to follow the US control. I mean, look at the state of our health care system!
It was a happy moment when the devil didn't get elected. Traditionally I am conservative (every federal and provincial election since I was old enough to vote) but seeing him (and all like him) make me turn into a hippy. Truly scary group of people.
And slein...Rick mercer rocked that satire. It was the funniest thing I had seen in a while
