In our county we have a pretty good library system, all the towns are connected. you can get a book in one and return it in another even order the book to be delivered to the library you go to. even has free wifi. I havent been there in nearly a year. boy things have changed. you are no longer allowed to take out a book if you are under 18, and dont have a parent with you! come on are you kidding me. I was told sorry new policy is that you need to be 18 to take out books. Then the wifi.... oh free wifi to anyone over 18 nope no wifi for pinkshirt doing his english project. end rant :monkey:

There's big signs above the computers at the university library that say something to the effect of "Thanks to the patriot act, the government can watch whatever the hell you're doing, or see what books you're checking out"

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that terrorists cant check out terror books.

No wonder our country has education problems, you have to be 18 to read now?! I think its so George W feels smarter than a few people in this country

In a decade or whenever my kid is old enough to go to the library by himself, I will have a fockin' ****storm if he couldn't check out a kids book on his own.

Maybe the county that Vernon, NJ is in had a lot of book theft and mis use of the free wifi i.e. youngsters looking at the pornos

You know, not too long ago students completed their english projects without the use of the internet. Weird huh?

...and I won't even say anything about misspelling the title of this thread...

Eh, I like our library. No wifi, but it's a great place to study that is free of distractions.

well the reason i was doing the project in the library was because its a halfway point between my partners house (group project) and the interwebz is needed for looking junk up.

May I suggest using actual books to look things up? People got along just fine doing that for a quite a while.

This has to be a localized NJ thing.

My kid has no problem taking out books, and she is nowhere near retarded.

    Kinda spacey.....but not retarded.

They just don't want you surfing porn and rubbing one out. You'll make the pages of the book stick together. That's not good:disgust1:

I'd be worried if I met a teenage girl that wasn't a bit spacey at times. Seems to be a needed part of a girls maturing.

That isn't even American English, it is just words slapped together that try to represent a sentence.

    spacey |?sp?s?|
(also spacy) adjective ( spacier , spaciest ) informal out of touch with reality, as though high on drugs : I remember babbling, high and spacey. • (of popular, esp. electronic music) drifting and ethereal.

    spicy |?sp?s?|
adjective ( spicier , spiciest ) flavored with or fragrant with spice : pasta in a spicy tomato sauce.
