Anyone know what the lightest flat bar is that still has some sweep? It will be going on a AM bike.

Seven Ti custom? It's expensive, but light and built to your specs.
I don't think I'd do a wide bar in Ti - it's flexy enough as a bar material as-is (or at least the Ti XC bars I have ridden have been that way).

So far the lightest/lowest bars I can find that are still wide are the Sunline V1 Carbon Bar. Its 685mm/19mm rise/170g. I really want a flat bar but 19mm is low.

I wish I could tell you the weight of the Chromag Fubar OS flat bars, but they aren't available until the middle of May. 736mm (29 inches) Site says 305 grams, but that's not bad, especially if they're going on your SS. I'm getting a pair for my trail bike. ;)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, but I really want a flat bar, under 200g, and 680mm+ that can still handle a little abuse.

Not sure if its the lightest, but am digging the Gravity 777 great sweep nice bar :thumb:
Specs from ride-this.com:
clamp dia.: 31.8mm
width: 777mm
sweep: 10 deg
color: grey
weight: 225g

That is probably the closest you are going to get to what you want.

Also, let me get this straight. You are counting grams of a handlebar on an all mountain bike... Which just so happens to have a coil shock with steel spring, hammerschmidt, chunky railed saddle, 2.5" dual-ply dh tires and unnecessary 8 ball valve caps (theres 10-15g of rotational weight right there)? We are probably talking a 100g (0.220462 lb) range on an easily 35lb bike (0.6% of the overall weight). I say go with what fits the bill as far as size, sweep and budget... Grams are a borderline lost cause at this point. Color may actually be more important based on the amount of stoke gained from having snazzy bars.

Well, to each their own. Good luck.

NOTE: It is Friday and I don't want to be at work.

Yes, coil shock with ti spring after pic was taken-lost 200g
Yes, AM HS-I love it.
Yes, 8 ball caps-my 7 yo daughter likes em
Rocket V ti seat-215g so not chunky
single ply 2.5 Minions-880g

bike is 33.5 lbs right on the nose

Back to the bars. The Deity bars are 300g and feel a little tall on the bike. I figured if I am going to change the bars Id like to get a sub 200g bar and lose 100-150g while Im at it.

Remember that you will lose some weight off the super wide bars when you cut them down. So something around 300g and 780 length will be say 260 at 680mm

680mm?????
Really. Does anybody even make a bar that narrow?
I'm shopping to replace my 710s on my trail bike because they feel too narrow.
785 is perfect IMO.

A wide bar needs to be heavy. I think you're going to have a hell of a time finding a flat bar that light.

There are TONS of flat XC bars narrower than 680mm.

I said 680mm+. I want something bigger than 680mm. Most flat bars that are longer than 680mm are over 300g. Most bars under 680mm are 150g and too light for an AM bike. See what Im saying. There is really no inbetween. Ill have to go with a DH bar and cut them to AM size.

that under 200g thing is gonna get ya.
Thats what Im starting to think. I think Im going to go with the Sunline V-one OS flat bar. Its 762mm and 303g. If I cut it down to 700mm it should be fine and around 250g.

Thats pretty much what I have and I love it. Great feel, I only wish it was black or nickel.

A carbon flat bar could achieve what you want but the widest one I know of is the Salsa @ only 660mm.
You gotta either go with an aluminum one @ about 250g or a light carbon riser like the Easton Monkey Lite XC @ 20mm rise, 685mm width, 160g.

Did you just not click on that link I posted? Am I talking to myself?

I run those on my sx trail.
