sometimes i wonder about the Canon engineers (and marketing team).

So that's 6K for just the body. You'll still need a digital back and lenses. At a quick glance, a new digital back can run from 8-30k. I didn't bother looking at the lens prices or what an older third party back could cost. I guess I'll just keep dreaming about the nice gear.

agreed it's not in same pricing group as top end DSLRs, but it's getting a lot closer.
