Last weekend a couple of the wife's friends bought new beater bikes and new full out trail bikes. The trail bikes, at over $2k a piece, are staying in the house. However, they were given free beater bikes by the store to commute back and forth to work on.

They came to me asking about locks after. As I keep my bike inside when I commute on it, and when they're in the truck I use a pair of master locks and a double cable to make sure they don't wander off, my area of expierence is lacking here.

Anyone have a few reccomendations for these girls? Something they could throw around their shoulder (i.e. the NY Chain) or maybe something like the Street Cuffs? The beater bikes are not all that nice, but here in Norfolk folk is ghetto and will steal anything not bolted down.

NY Chain is good, but SOO heavy. I'd recommend anything the lightest and smallest lock the insurance company thinks is enough just to be sure you get paid out should the nasty thing happen.

Now I want one of those Squire Locks.

Anyone have any idea where in the US to get one?
