Motorola Wins Europe-Wide Sales Ban Against iOS Devices

If this weren't instigated by a history of litigious action by Apple, I would chalk it up to another nit-picky patent fight and say that everyone should just cross license and be happy.

Since Apple has been such douches about suing companies like Samsung, though, all I have to say is:

It's basically a good faith payment that the lawsuit is what they say it is. If they lose, it's to compensate Apple for the injunction. If they win, they get it back.

one interesting thing worth noting... all the stuff apple has been going after other companies for is design related stuff, and user interface things - stuff that is easily changeable - but also questionable as to why some of the patents were issued in the first place.


Motorola hit them with a patent related to core network functionality of the device. FAR more substantial.
