Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
So, it was a nice long weekend and I got in lots of riding....I know more of your were riding so post up your reports here.

Friday: 11am - Spier Falls. Had a nice ride with lots of climbing with McGRP01 (see pics in his thread) and DJ from our local club. Relaxed pace and a nice long loop on a beautiful day. DJ & McGRP01 had some mechanical issues, but thankfully, my bike performed well. Got home from that ride, at a sandwich quick and headed out with Sq-Earl and the KAPL guys for a loop at our SMBA trails. We rode, 107-->Bee-->High Noon-->High Roller-->Inner Loop and out. It was an awesome day for riding and I felt fast and my legs felt great on my 2nd ride. Sq-Earl was surprised at how fast I was going late in the ride. Maybe I am ready for this racing thing afterall ;)

Saturday: rode some stunts around the house and a little loop behind my house just to see how my legs would feel. Then it was yardwork!

Sunday: DH at West. That place really is trying to kill me!!! Took a few runs, but was having some difficulties. My rear brake cable kept popping out and I wouldn't have rear brakes... I fixed it a few times, grazed quite a few trees and slid out on some really steep dirt sections. Sq-Earl had a bad crash, but walked away with some bruises and scrapes.

Monday: 10:30 am - Spier Falls. Sq-Earl and I decided to do another loop at Spier Falls. Climbed up the wind tunnel to the main trail. Got to the top and took some pics. I made a couple of tough climbs, but my legs were tired from the DH day and it was getting dark with lots of thunder so we cut our ride a little short and took the Mystery trail down. The mystery trail is REALLY steep with some tough rock gardens. I managed to ride more of it than I have ever ridden before and whiped out pretty good in the tough rock garden. :D

Overall, an amazing weekend of riding!!!! :thumb:

Sounds like you tore it up this weekend! You are gonna kick my ass at Dalton.
:D Not sure if I can meet that challenge...but I will sure try  Really, I am just hoping to be competitive. I have even given up alcohol until after my races (probably after Pats Peak) to aid with my training :sneaky:

LOL!!! I knew that would be the response! Sq-Earl said the same thing. I am REALLY motivated to do well and I get lazy when I drink. Plus, I am eating really well in preparation for racing so I don't want to spoil that. Trust me...it's been tough, but a battle I am willing to try (atleast for now).

I went out on the rail trail with my sons on Saturday - but Connor crashed and I think he broke his arm - X-rays were inconclusive but hinted at that from the visit to the ER. Poor little guy, he's gotta go to CT Children's Medical Center to have it looked at by a pediatric ortho specialist. :(

 I hope he's feeling better. I am sure he'll heal up quick!

He's been a real trooper about it - I feel bad though. :( I just wish I could have somehow caught him before he fell.
I know how you feel Mark, it's hard to see them perform "without a net" sometimes. He'll heal up fast and be back out there in no time I'm sure! :)

Saturday: Mtn Creek - riding the open stuff like Dominion, etc,... and watching the qualifying. :thumb:
Sunday: Easy XC ride with wife on SS bike in Gaithersburg, VA
Watching the CSC Invitational in Arlington, VA
Monday: A good long mtb ride with lots of climbing / descending with a bud for 5.5 hours in GW National Forest.

Legs are feeling the burn today, and I hope it's muscles and not Poison Ivy.

Gotta get the legs in shape for Thorpe.
