I am looking for some SS disc hubs. they need to be able to take a beating, and be dependable also. I am only looking for a rear SS disc hub that takes freewheels. I am looking to spend $150 or less.

Got my Surly New Hub on my Karate Monkey. Fixie on one side, free on the other. They also have nice new disc hubs. Pretty nice hubs for not much dough. 60 bucks for the rear I believe.

I like the idea of freewheels instead of cassets. Freewheels are cheaper, and easier to replace than cassets. This hub will go on my urban bike.

I think both are about as easy to replace, installation wise.

I like the adustable chainline that a cassette provides, hence that will be my next choice.

Finding a decent cassette sprocket that's un-ramped or profiled in the correct tooth size can be a pain, yes.

You don't actually have a bike with a freewheel on it, do you?

How about a bench vise. Got one of those?

what do you mean? how hard is it to put on, and take off a free wheel?
