i want it to be an AM bike. thinking the Heckler D AM with the RP23 upgrade, should be $1815 i think. i want something thats super reliable yet gets the job done nicely

If you can scrape up $600 more, there's a new (demo model) Butcher on ebay with the XT build kit and Lyrik DH fork at an amazing price. I have a very similar bike and I can tell you it kills...

For $2k it's gonna be tough to beat a Giant Reign methinks.

for that price, I'd definitely agree to Giant. Look around shops, you might be able to get a good deal on last years models from Specialized and Trek too.

Have you considered something used? You'd be able to get something nicer, even tho it would have a few rides on it.
