As some of you may know but there is a fire that has plauged tahoe for the past 4 days and is still only 44% contained. over 275 homes have benn taken durring this, so having many close friends that have alwasys been there for me and this town, i want to give anything that i can back to them, so I am looking for help in the form of donations of bikes, parts to put together bikes, skis, snowboards, skateboards ot give back to the families that have lost not just their home but all of the vauables and sports equipment. I am not doing for profits or anything like that but just looking to bring a smile to kids and parents faces or even to just lift up their spirits to help them get through this horrable event that has taken place the past few days. I had plans to come through Tahoe this Friday and ride the Flume Trail. Does anyone know if the smoke is affecting the air quality bad enough that the Flume Trail would be a bad idea. And if it is bad, is it also affecting Northstar?

I've got a bunch of boys baby clothes that my 2 year old has grown out of. My wife is going through all of them now. We're just going to take them with us to Northstar this weekend and figure something out from there.

For those wishing to help there are several organizations and businesses that are accepting donations throughout the Tahoe-Reno area to help families displaced by the Angora fire.

• The MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa is holding a clothing, food and monetary donation drive to benefit those impacted by the Angora. The drive begins Wednesday and will take place daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday June 29. Those wishing to participate in MontBleu’s drive can drop donations in front of MontBleu’s valet station, visible from Highway 50.

• Carson City residents wanting to help victims of the Angora fire can bring items to Casino Fandango. The casino is accepting donations at its front entrance, 3800 S. Carson Street. Anyone with questions can call the casino at 885-7000.

• The Eagles Wings Christian Fellowship in South Carson is also accepting donations of clothing and bedding for those displaced by the Angora fire. The church is at 150 E. Roland Ave., off of Snyder Avenue south of the Carson Lanes Bowling Alley. Contact Diane Pepka at 841-9623 for information.

• Carson Valley Christian Center - 1095 Stephanie Way in Minden - is now accepting donations of supplies and/or money. The church is accepting donations of blankets, water, deodorant, children's Tylenol, disposable gloves, clothing or canned goods. Any money that is received will be used to purchase supplies or provide support for fire victims. Contact the church at 267-0151.

• The Tahoe Daily Tribune is a donation drop off center at 3079 Harrison Avenue, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

• The American Red Cross shelter center has been set up at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center (530) 542-6056. They're taking monetary donations and have info on housing.

• The Sierra Recovery Center in South Lake Tahoe is accepting donations for those affected by the Angora fire. The center is at 1137 Emerald Bay Road. Residents are asked not to take items to the evacuation center.

• Donations of goods and money are being accepted at the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Administration Building, 866 Oriole Way, Incline Village. Contact them at 831-0351, ext. 0 or by e-mail at: info@nltfpd.net. Donations are also being accepted at the Incline Village General Improvement District Administration Building, 893 Southwood Boulevard (775) 832-1100.

• Raley's, which has eight employees who lost homes in the fire, is setting up donation boxes company-wide to the Tahoe Fire Relief Fund, benefiting the American Red Cross to collect funds for those affected by the fire. All donations in these cash boxes will support the Tahoe Fire Relief Fund. Raley's will also have an Add-A-Buck program, where customers will have the option to add one, five or ten dollars at the time of their checkout to go directly to the Tahoe Fire Relief Fund. Raley's has been providing fire crews with food and water as more firefighters enter the South Lake Tahoe area to help contain the fire.

• The North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, working with the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross, is accepting bottled water, canned goods, blankets, towels and clothing. North Lake Tahoe area businesses and individuals can donate needed items at the Rideout Community Center located 740 Timberland Lane, just off Highway 89 on the West Shore and approximately seven miles south of Tahoe City. Donations can be made between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

• Donations will also be accepted at this week's Sunday Concert at Commons Beach between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. Volunteers are needed to man the Rideout and Commons Beach drop-off locations. Contact the Tahoe City Downtown Association at 530-583-3348 or email at tcda@visittahoecity.com if interested.

• IVGID is accepting non-monetary donations, i.e. blankets, toiletries, water, etc. Bring items to the 893 Southwood office Monday and Tuesday and IVGID will have these items delivered.

• Angora fire fund through the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce to U.S. Bank; P.O. Box 17640 South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151.

• Harrah's Lake Tahoe is planning a major fundraising concert to benefit those affected by the Angora fire. Spokesman John Packer said performers from across the nation have contacted the gaming organization with interest in participating.

• Squaw Valley USA is organizing a clothing/supplies drive for the Angora Fire Victims this week from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday June 26 through Sunday July 1 at the Olympic Village Lodge. They need clothing, blankets, food, towels, cooking supplies, and pet supplies. They ask that donations be clean and ready for use.

• A Sparks 8-year-old girl is holding her own toy and clothing drive for victims. Her mother is helping by collecting items at Custom Aire Mechanical located at 2205 Glendale Avenue Suite 143.

• A south Reno pet store is accepting donations for residents who lost their homes. Spoiled Rotten Pet Boutique on South Meadows and Double R Boulevard is taking non-perishable foods, water, clothes, blankets, pillows, etc. until 9 p.m. Monday. For more information, call Geri Holmes at 829-7886.

• A clothing drive will be held Wednesday 6am-6pm at the Atlantis Casino's west parking lot. "Together for Tahoe" will collect cash, non-perishable food, pet food, clothes, shoes, blankets and sleeping bags. If you have any questions or want to volunteer call 224-7300.

What happened with this? Sent a couple emails but no reply. I've got a bunch of gear to donate, just looking for a place that will take it and make sure it goes to someone who can use it...
