My Surly Long Haul Trucker was destroyed in an accident a decade ago and I haven't ridden since then, nor researched any bikes. I really like the LHT, but it looks like it's about $2000 these days and I'd like to get something less than $1000.

Do any of y'all have a suggestion on a touring/hybrid bike that has disc brakes, braze-ons, etc. that I should look at that's not expensive?

I guess the bike I want is called "adventure bike" or "gravel bike" these days?

Hmmmm, $1000, I think I'd go used too.
Even a Fuji Touring Disc is $1500-

If you can find a Marin Giramondo on spesh you might get it for a grand or less, but I don't know if Marin/Polygon steel frames crack like the Aluminium ones tended to.
