I've been out of the game for a bit so I don't know whats out here or whats good etc. I have a banshee scream last, but looking to get a hardtail. Just looking for a decent mid grade bike. I'm looking to spend 700 or so, hell even a used bike I'm down for. I could go a hair more, but let me know whats up.

$700 for the frame or the whole bike?

If you re looking for a good frame, the ones that jump to mind right away are the Chromag Stylus, the Sinister Ridge and the Transition Trans Am. You could try to track down a Transition Vagrant, which was a burly but fun bike.

imo, the only way to get a decent bike for $700.00 is to go used.

Hell, I just built a 'budget' ss hardtail and everything on it was bought used or through a bro deal. It ran more than $1500.00.

There are alot of options out there. When on a budget it's all about being patient for the right deal to pop up.
