There will be a new 8" travel bike...and a new 6" bike, and a new 4" bike.ViolentVolante said:so im guessing no new DH bike from giant
Because we all know that an Aussie can ride a shoebox fast if it had wheels on it.James@Giant said:As I said over @ Hcor, those are not the US-spec bikes. I think they're Austrailian or something.
We'll be releasing info on ours in a couple of weeks.
Thanks!

you mean the one that hasn't dropped a chain on me in 2 years? i see no problem there!ssaddict said:Hmm, still spec'ing that wonderful Giant chain guide I see.
Except for really bad clearance and that perfectly placed front tab. That thing works great for catching logs on roll ins.scottishmark said:you mean the one that hasn't dropped a chain on me in 2 years? i see no problem there!
but I thought they'd gotten rave reviews and several awards for their innovative design and tremendous durability?ssaddict said:Hmm, still spec'ing that wonderful Giant chain guide I see.
unless of course you just grind the tab off, 2 mins later job's a good 'unbuildyourown said:Except for really bad clearance and that perfectly placed front tab. That thing works great for catching logs on roll ins.

Wish they'd get rid of those linkages on that bike i see so many of em smashed.
they might be able to rotate the whole thing to a new position, but they really wanted that shock position it seems (blame Renault)buildyourown said:??????
The linkage is what makes that bike what it is.
..........as it gives a very neat package with a very low cogzedro said:but they really wanted that shock position it seems (blame Renault)

Haven't been around DH bikes a long time have ya?me89 said:gesse the guide is as big as the bike. if you ask me thats a little excessive. why not just put an e13 or mrp on it and be done with this grinding crap. grinding is not a good thing when it comes to things like a dh bike or any bike for that matter. i agree new linkage is needed.
Are you talking in American or Canadian? They are Latrell Spreewell's shoes (the inventor of spinners, or something like that) and they are only like $105. For basketball shoes nowadays that is pretty normal. I also think they look pretty sweet.Transcend said:Oh man, that reminds me. I saw basketball shoes (what else) with tiny spinner rims on them yesterday. THEY ACTUALLY SPIN, and cost in excess of $150. who pays this much money for friggin sneakers?
I agree. Seriously, they made the bike look worse!stoney98 said:looks like ass. glad I'm tall.
Yeah, that makes sense that they are the Sprewell model.RideND said:Are you talking in American or Canadian? Oh, and the whole have-to-remove-shock-to-adjust-it package as well? Yeh, fantastic design there.scottishmark said:..........as it gives a very neat package with a very low cog
You didn't happen to notice the remote reservoir before you made that comment, did you?Rik said:Oh, and the whole have-to-remove-shock-to-adjust-it package as well? Yeh, fantastic design there.
Well, in that case, there is no design in the world that will satisfy you. Right behind the stem is always going to be high, that's set by your fork height. And the rear tire is set where it is.thaflyinfatman said:It doesn't solve the standover issue IMO... dunno about you guys, but I never managed to land on my nuts UNDER the seat, 99% of the time it's on the seat, the other 1% of the time is split between the front of the tt/stem and the rear tyre. <snip>
I'm moreso referring to the 04 Giant DH's that landed in Australia with no remote reservoir. So much for the tunability of 6 ways, if you have to dismantle half the bike to get to the shock.binary visions said:You didn't happen to notice the remote reservoir before you made that comment, did you?
I have to loosen more bolts to remove either my front or rear tire than to remove my shock for adjustments.Rik said:I'm moreso referring to the 04 Giant DH's that landed in Australia with no remote reservoir. Good to see that they're speccing remote reservoir on all their DH bikes (hopefully) for 05. Shame that the dropped top tube looks ugly as, and will only be of benefit when you're standing stationary over the bike... I guess that'd be handy when you're talking to people and want to pose whilst on your bike.

plus, it keeps that great low COG....and much easier to ride with their favorite dress!BigMike said:for all of you whining about SO, go out and get a Giant Sedona LX. Its got Disc brakes and a suspention seatpost, you'll be fine
yes, and then called it a small frame. Noticed you lopped of some seat tube.xy9ine said:what they *should* have done:
