i have an 08' dj1 i was wondering what the best way to shave off the brake tabs are, also i have an ns traffic and was wondering the same thing about the tabs for a gear cable. any help is appreciated

The weight savings will be negligable compared to the amount of work it takes to cleanly shave the mounts and re-paint. Actually the weight savings are negligable without considering the amount of work. But if you want to do it for the clean look, use a disc grinder and grind them off.

You spelled losing wrong.

I'm thinking you're doing it more for a cleaner look cuz the guys are right, the amount of weight you're saving is next to nothing. For resale sake I wouldn't do those mods.

If you decide to grind anything off, be extra careful not to grind into the material of the frame or fork. Just get it close with the grinder, and then use a sander or file by hand to get it smooth.
