    I only visit the Valley Floor in the winter. In the summer the place is just too crowded with tourists unless you are going climbing or hitting up on tourist women in the mountain room bar at night. Summer in Yosemite is meant to be spent in the high country Climbing in Toulumne Meadows or backpacking the far trails.

    That said it is such a magnificent place and its only 175 miles from my house

    It really is truly magnificent. I used to live 2 hours away. I'd drive up there every Saturday to do a long training run getting ready for marathons. It's easy to run 20+ miles when you're so distracted by all that grandeur.
