Ever since I installed the Ti spring in my 40 it has made an especially loud spring knock. Does anyone have suggestions on quieting it down? I readjusted the heat shrink so it was centered again but it didn't seem to help any. I know this has been discussed many times but I don't remember a hearing of a solution. It's not a huge deal as I plan on replacing it with a 2011 in the near future but a fix would be nice.

In the Northwest.
Did you install the spring dry? Grab a handful of grease and lather it up before dropping it in, including the top and bottom ends. then make sure your preload is touching the spring. It should be quiet after that.

Ive heard of people putting a couple layers of duct tape on 6-8 inches of the center of the spring to quiet down the knocking. I would just add more heat shrink/grease as others have suggested as I feel a $1600 fork deserves better than duct tape.
