Remember when I called it for Troy? I was just kidding. Calling it for Loic. Also, pulling for Gwin as usual, but 12.3s is a lot of time to make up. Loic crushed it pretty hard.

Looks like Peaty should qualify, which will be nice, but it also looks like George Brannigan did not, and probably got a flat or something, and he wasn't a protected rider, so a bit of a bummer there.

in a single wide, cooking meth...
Looks like Eliot either blew up or had a mechanical issue. Not a great result for Slugger either. Also seems like Minnaar either had a slip up or took it easy based on his fast 1st split.

Hopefully Remi is protected, no?

And fuck yeah Peat!

chainsaw currently in 4...hellz yeah. i feel un-murican for not pulling more for gwin, and i'd be stoked if he won, but all that lebron-style media crap in the offseason got tired really quick. good show by ratty too. looks like brannigan may have wrecked his way down the mountain again. wyn was funny interviewing him about it.
agree totally with you
I would not mind a chainsaw win either

Huh, thats curious, according to the qualifying results posted on vital, Rachel didn't qualify first? I assume thats a misprint, because she always wins

How is Gwins History in the wet? I only remember that he won by quite some margin in fort william but I think fort william is not as hard in the wet as Lourdes is... I think Bruni will have an advantage here if it doesn't really dry up till race day...

Definitely. Gwin hates the wet. He admitted that in his Yeti years.
So stoked for WC season. Not so stoked that Jackson didn't make the big show. He's on my fantasy team...

Will he ride the whole WC series? I picked some unknown WC racer that DSQ for the same "cash" as Elliot.

From Pinkbike:

"The job of the spring is simply to re-extend the suspension, it's not there to hold the bike up, that's what the compression damping is for" - Nigel Reeve, Stevie Smith's Mechanic

eh, should someone tell him?

*edit*- there are probably charitable interpretations of that which make sense, it's just funny

I saw that too. Someone should probably fire him, or beat him with a large spring.

Just don't let your mechanic set up your suspension. Strangely enough i know quite a few mechanics that are both good at their job and shit in terms of suspension setup knowledge.

The X0 DH crankset provides a level of crank stiffness and reliability for the most aggressive terrain. The sub-800g carbon crank has been developed and proven by top World Cup pros in the most extreme conditions imaginable.

He should have gone with the Super Deluxe version. Sh!t.

Did you read the bikecheck of chainsaws Wilson on pinkbike?

"The bike has 26% sag at the rear, and not very much at the front, the bike sags 7mm front and rear under its own weight." - Nigel Reeve

So tell me how you get 7mm of SAG under bike weight froont and rear and then "not very much at the front"?

Damn, Gwin is fast. Amazing run from him.
Not sure if anybody could be faster. It gets interesting.

Just noticed Vergier cut out the mouthpiece of his helmet for more air intake.
