Okay so far I'm being riding my nicolai M-pire with 175MM Husseelt cranks and shimano 626 spd pedals..
I hit rocks and branches a few times with this setup and is getting kind o tyresome...(suspension is spot on and the bottom bracket is at about 13,5" high)

the basic problem with the Nicolai's is that the Bottom bracket is a 100MM shell and i think 148Mm at the extemes, this locates the pedals way to freaking far from the center of the bike..

so I'm trying to find a pair of cranks with a much narrower Q factor but still strong for Dh dutty, sincerlly i prefer to keep the cranks at 175Mm (most of my hardtails have 180MM)

any suggestions,,,price is not really a object, I just want the narrowest cranks I can find...

Oh i'm running a evil-13 guide if that makes any diference

thanks ricardo

honestly, I have owned the same bike as well as other Nicolai bikes with 100mm bb and after about a solid month of riding you just get use to the width and stop smacking cranks....D

Thanks Mister BMX man...

actually i install a pair of 175Mm Stylo cranks and the hells of my shoes(Spd 6 Deggre platforms) touch the swingarm ones sometimes ...

so i quess you advice is best unless i need to brake down and ride 165Mn cranks..

actually since you know the bike far better than i do,,what is the best compromise of bottom bracket height you found..???

maybe i need to "lift" mine even more to increase ground clearance.

thanks for the advice is very sound, I tell the same kind of things to my motorcycle clients...
