Hey all!!

I was wondering what's a decent low stack headset for 1 1/8 head tubes?? I was running a crank bros opium until the bottom cup sheared off in half and went back to the CK and the front end is way too high. Give me some feedback.

The difference is less than 3.5mm. Can you really tell a difference?

I'm just comparing the lower cups. If you consider top and bottom the difference is a little more significant.

Your options are limited for 1 1/8. I looked around a lot because I was trying to use one that allowed me to use the low Boxxer crown. Opium has the lowest stack at 20.6mm. Other than that, the rest are at generally 28-31mm range. Chris King is at 31.4mm. You might want to look into Acros AH-02, which has 24.7mm. Otherwise, go back to Opium.

I have the sage deep cup stainless Crank Bros hs and it is garbage for ss it is very brittle the bottom cups crack very easily. The bearings can't be replaced. Crank Bros knows they screwed up and warantied the hs but I won't put it back on my bike. The Cane Creek S-6 has a decently low stack height.
