Chattanooga, TN is known for having some of the sweetest singletrack in the country. We all know the usual riding spots that are open to mountain bikes, but what about the trails that aren?t? Wouldn?t you like to ride on some of the sweetest backwoods trail you?ve ever laid your two eye balls on? This is your chance to ride trails that usually require a super-secret handshake and magic decoder ring to access. Stuff so secret that we can?t even give you a map for fear we?ll be taken away by men in black coats and sunglasses. Introducing the Lula Lake Land Trust 5-Points 50 and SORBA Chattanooga Fat Tire Festival on October 11th and 12th 2014. This isn?t a race; it?s a test of your will and determination. Fire service roads, machine cut singletrack, hiking trails, and backwoods singletrack stretched out over 50 grueling miles on top of Lookout Mountain will challenge you like nothing you?ve ever experienced.
With an event this big, you?d expect a pretty awesome post-ride shindig and we don?t plan to disappoint. No epic mountain bike event is truly complete without a feast to match. Food will be ready shortly after the first riders finish and will continue throughout the day. Adult style beverages will be available as well as sodas and water.
What was that?you want to know about swag and awards??? OK. How about a custom Mason Jar to pour that cold brew in? Cash money to the top three finishers in Men?s and Women?s Open, Singlespeed, and Masters classes. Top three finishers in each class will receive a one-of-a-kind trophy not to be found anywhere else. On top of all this, we will be giving away swag once all finishers have come in and the post race party has started.
Remember that Fat Tire Festival that we talked about earlier? Well we've got an amazing lineup of event planned post race. Test your strength in the Huffy frame toss, your self preservation instinct in the clunker downhill, and just plain have fun in the night short track race.
