With my new position, I'm finally able to pretty much set my own workday schedule, as long as I get done what I need to. And thus today started the lunch ride with a couple other people from my department. A little over an hour, not sure distance, but it was a healthy pace for my arse.
On a side note, since I didn't bring my towel in for a shower today, I'd like to give big ups to the Rocket Shower.

They hooked us up here with a case a while back, and this is my first time using it, and it rules.
No pics, sorry, just a good day.
And also, leftover Chinese food from our lunch yesterday is saving my butt...

yea, riding at lunch is great. I've been doing it now for about 4 weeks, weather permitting. It breaks up the day nicely and helps with the 2:00 dear-god-I-need-a-nap lull I get every afternoon.

Lunch rides kick ass! I have a state park lake 3 blocks away that makes an awesome 17 mile loop that I can do in just under an hour. And, I'm lucky enough to have a shower at work. Something else to try if you don't have a shower is un-scented baby wipes.

I don't have shower facilities at work--have you tried the baby wipes idea yourself? How successful were they?

I use baby wipes... I'm not sure how "clean" they get me, but I feel cleaner after a good wipedown with them. I have to wait until I stop sweating though, otherwise it doesn't accomplish anything.

Baby wipes, some fresh deoderant, and clean clothes are good enough for me. No one has complained yet

I've only used them out on the trail for doing a little cleanup and for *other* issues.

i think i'll be doing lunch time rides this summer. baby wipes and a pak towel are my ammunition of choice when it comes to fighting the stink, but I'm in a GA office and I've gotten over caring if i stink.

It gets so hot here in the summer, it just takes me forever to stop sweating.

We don't get unbelievable heat, but we do get some pretty oppressive humidity June-September. I end up wearing just my riding shorts while sitting in my office with the AC cranked and a fan blowing on me. Takes about 10 minutes for me to stop sweating... then I get cleaned up and changed back into my work clothes.

Been doing some more daily rides. Nothing like going out for a ride at abotu 2:30 or so, especially when your coworkers are stuck to their chairs. Good stuff.
The unfortunate thing is that my knee surgery is scheduled for this coming Wednesday, so I'll be off of the bike for a couple of weeks. But c'est la vie...
I'll be back...
