Front Range, dude...
Michael Moore is lame, he is a fat turd just looking for something to complain about. As long as there is profit in it for him.
Our health care system is screwed up? OMFG! No one knew before this! Now Mike, be a good little Socialist and share some of the $$ you make off this film with some folks who need medical care. Buy Granny a new hip or something.

He's probably a bit too strapped making house payments on that penthouse in Manhattan... oh - and I suspect paying for some pretty sumptuous dinners. :D

The only thing Moore could contribute positively towards this country would be to liquidate all of his assets, donate the money to charity and then bow out of the media entirely. THAT is virtually the only thing that would cause me to respect him.

The "he's in it for the money" thing is such bullsh!t... I can't believe y'all are so happy to hop on that band-wagon. It's the simplest thing his detractors can come up with to discredit him.

Now, I find him annoying, and don't always agree with him, but his efforts and his passion are geniune, and you're kidding yourself if you don't think he's creating this documentaries to affect change.

Feel free to label him an attention whore or a sensationalist, and call him out for distorting the truth, but claiming he's in it for the money is just plain lazy.

As a free market captalist who values personal determination, fiscal conservatism and private sector entrepeneurism, I find Moore's underhanded ways to make a quick buck utterly disgusting.

I don't care if he's in it for the money, I have plenty of other complaints with him - that I've voiced many times. I'm just observing that I think he's a worthless bag of skin so his money would be put to better use than lining his pockets.

:stupid:

Yea, I think I'll spend a crap load of time, energy and my own money making a documentary (F 9/11) that doesn't have a distributor so I can make a quick buck.

Then when it's a commercial success, I won't spend a dime on myself or invest in my future...

hey, you 2 have something in common after all:
"Every filmmaker intends for his film to be seen on the big screen," Moore said. "This wasn't a guy taking a video camera into a theater. This was an inside job, a copy made from a high-quality master and could potentially impact the opening weekend boxoffice. Who do you think benefits from that?"

clickity-click
sicko "was an inside job"?

As free market capitalist you should admire the guy for being a self made millionare and media icon. Now as a ethical and balanced source....that may be a fair arguement. I still think he's awesome and helps keep big industry honest more than our own government.

And Kidwoo- off topic, but you never answered my question about that great vid you posted, which you stated was filmed entirely in Moab- were those jumps in the woods in the Lasalles somewhere??

Fahrenheit 9/11
One of the most controversial and provocative films of the year, Fahrenheit 9/11 is Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore's searing examination of the Bush administration's actions in the wake of the tragic events of 9/11.

With his characteristic humor and dogged commitment to uncovering the facts, Moore considers the presidency of George W. Bush and where it has led us. He looks at how - and why - Bush and his inner circle avoided pursuing the Saudi connection to 9/11, despite the fact that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis and Saudi money had funded Al Qaeda. Fahrenheit 9/11 shows us a nation kept in constant fear by FBI alerts and lulled into accepting a piece of legislation, the USA Patriot Act, that infringes on basic civil rights. It is in this atmosphere of confusion, suspicion and dread that the Bush Administration makes its headlong rush towards war in Iraq and Fahrenheit 9/11 takes us inside that war to tell the stories we haven't heard, illustrating the awful human cost to U.S. soldiers and their families.

Something about how the war was started with lies and would turn into a quaqmire paid for by us. Oh, and people would die too.

Can you watch the link posted (that this thread is about) before responding to a discussion? Or is an informed debate too high an expectation?
i did. in case you're new to his tactics, it's a worthy question so one can see what he said to wolf vs. what he asserted in f9/11.

and yes, i'd like fries with that.

I thought what he said to Wolf was right inline with what he said would (and in fact did) happen in Iraq.

As a regular internet poster you should recognize sarcasm/irony the first time around;)

Sorry man......I actually thought you were kidding. I was when I put that it was filmed in moab. I only put that in there because other than the post canyon stuff (ferns around), I guard the locations of those trails vehemently with a sharpened flathead shovel.

None of that was actually in utah.

Thanks - sarcasm noted.

If you're going to guard the trails, can you at least make a few more vids - that was one of the best that I've seen on the web. Maybe you can get a fat suit and a pair of glasses to lunch MM off a kicker ;)

F*cken Wolf.....jesus christ, if ya name is Blitzer, ya call ya kid Doug or Fred.....not f*cking Wolf. Make it stop.
Look at this bloke "Bismarck du Plessis"- he's a South African rugby player- Bismarck my sweet lord, why didn't they just call him Dresden-firebombing.
I've recently taken up muttering and the backs of my eyes hurt.

Like him or not, was he wrong about Iraq in Fahrenheit? I like how Wolf dodged that question.
Amazing that it took 12 replys before somebody commented on something that MM actually said in the interview with Blitzer..

Breitbart talking about how MM mocked Sanjay Gupta's name is so obviously done only to take the spotlight away from all the things MM said and twisting it to being a racist remark. I found MM to be mocking Sanjay Gupta as a person, for the bad journalism that he contributes to.

I mean, what has happened to this country, I mean Wolf, we used to have leaders like FDR who with our allies defeted the nazis and Mussolini in less time than our commander in chief has been able to secure the road from the airport to downtown Bagdad.
"MM, we hear from Iran that you're going there to promote your new film, is that true..."

I liked his response to that.
