That's cool, they've gotten the runs down to a science up here and they are heavily regulated. Everyone wants a piece of the action and somehow enough have to survive for the next run, so escapements and numbers are all watched in rivers with fish counters and other devices, then the F&G issues emergency opening and closure notices all over the place based on these.

Caught a few Salmon in California, mostly in the Bay or right outside of it. Fucking sea lion stoke a few of them.
