Beast put together an edit on vital with a lot of the same footage. Here's an edit I did before that one was done.

They've really started paying attention to the bike park this year. It's good to see.

Heard not many trails were open still due to snow? I really want to go at least once this year, worth it for a weekend trip?

Definitely. I'm trying to squeeze one in as well. Open through the end of the month I think.

The sad thing is that chainsmoke was abosolutely destroyed when we were there (still we're talking almost a month ago, it may have seen some love). The good news is that so much work has been done on some of the 'less than double black' trails, that they're worth not ignoring any more.

I don't know.....I enjoy riding mammoth more than northstar regardless. You can actually ride your dh bike at the speeds they're meant to be ridden. The work they've done just makes that more the case.

Mammoth is in great shape. As kidwoo said CS is still closed, as is skid marks. Bullet, Techno Rock, Follow me, upper shock treatment, and Velocity are in great shape. The new addition to twilight zone is pretty sweet too. The jump line at the bottom of that trail is pretty well done. They are rebuilding pipeline and it looks like that will be a true "double black" freeride trail with big wooden doubles (~40-45 ft) instead of dirt tables like the rest of the mountain and all of northstar.

Personally I like Mammoth more. "Bigger" lines, faster, more technical, longer and a closer drive. They just need to open up lift 22 or something to access bullet/follow me/flow directly.

All and all I've been up there 2 weekends this year and love it. I'm going to try to go once more after pipeline is done, probably the last weekend of the season. Next year they do need to get CS open and build maybe one more "double black" DH trail like bullet or CS since they've really been building up the FR side of things this year.

Also, what is with resorts having totally sh*tty or nonexsistant intermediate trails? Both Northstar and mammoth, you are basically either riding single blacks, or fireroads it seems. No real intermediate single track to speak of, nothing that sort of...gets you ready for riding the single black DH stuff.

No Danny Hart content?

Screw it no way I am going to watch this crap without some Danny Hart content.

I don't think anything else in north america compares to whistler.
In terms of what? Number of trails, quality of trails, general all-round-complete-package-ness, number of Australians, length of summer snowboard gangsta tall tees, rate of STI transmission, total damage done to a bike in a week, number of bears sitting on bike trails, number of lifts available to bikers, cost of booze, percentage of inhabitants stoned/high at any one time, number of mansions a certain bike industry veteran has defiled drunken demi-pornstars in, or

d) all of the above?
