The Kamakazi was jsut about the most fun I have had on a DH race run.

It is humbling to push yourself past your safety zone cause the course is so dang fast.

I spun out my 46t pretty quickly. If they do it right and add some fun hisgspeed jumps at the bottom similiar to 2000 then it would be awsome.

The ones who say it is easy aren't trying hard enough .....get a bigger ring and GO! :D it is F A S T........................really fast.

If it doesn't interfere with the other races and practices....give it a go. I was bless to ride the course that defined DH while I was in College. The Kamakazi was the tip top course and made them GT RTS bikes work hard using their 2" of suspension. :D

I came back years later with a 6" Rotec........that is how fast bikes were changing.

remember to practice your tuck..........and drafting off the guy you catch up too....to gain a few seconds more. :)

Hey, I recieved an e-mail from USACycling today:
"You've qualified
to compete in the
USA Cycling Mountain Bike
National Championship
at Mammoth Mountain
September 23-26, 2004. "
Funny, I haven't been to a national this year? What were the criteria for qualifying again? Pay for a NORBA license and.......

...............and finish top 5 or top 10 in a Norba NMBS RACE.....take a look at the qualifier list at www.usacycling.org and find your name - it will have the event(s) that qualified you.

They change it from top5 to top 10 in the Sea Otter I noticed, which will probably cause the dollars to fly out of my wallet, damnit! Mammoth is awesome, though...I've race the Bullet, Velocity and Kami DH courses.

Who knows, on any given sunday.........? :)

I don't know about Washington but a bunch of California State Championship races were qualifiers.

How's your plans for opening the shop going? Let me know when you are getting ready to go and I'll volunteer some hours building bikes or whatever you need help with. It'll be nice to have a LBS where the employees actually ride.
